Q. Do you have a site map so I can see where the cabin is located?
A. Yes we do righ HERE.
Q. Is the water drinkable?
A. Yes the water is safe for consumption.
Q. What do I need to bring for my vacation?
A. You will need to bring towels for personal use & swimming, tea towels and your food. We suggest bringing sleeping bags and pillows however we do provide bed linen at an additional charge if required. However, we do request that people staying in the Beach House bring sleeping bags for the bunk beds.

Q. What are the cottages equipped with?
A. All cottages are equipped with Satellite TV, refrigerator, propane cook stove, microwave oven, toaster, coffee maker, coffee filters, pots, pans, cutlery, cooking utensils, cheese grater, dishware, dish soap, toilet paper, garbage bags. All have their own bathrooms with Showers (Pineview has a bath and shower).
Q. Can I bring my pet?
A. Yes, with the exception of Pit Bulls and other aggressive types of dog. Your pets must be people, and pet friendly. All pets must be leashed when walking, tied while outside at your cabin, and under the control of a responsible person. You must "stoop and scoop" for your pet. Pets are not to be left unattended, whether inside the cottage or outside. There is a fee of $100.00 weekly or $20.00 daily for each pet.
Q. Do you sell wood for the fire-pits?
A. Yes, wood is available for purchase.
Q. Are friends allowed to visit me during my stay?
A. Yes, but please notify us in advance.
Q. Can I bring my own boat?
A. Of course you can. There is no additional charge for your boat to dock.
Q. Can I plan my vacation for less than one week?
A. Yes, we charge for a minimum of two nights.
Q. Where can I shop in the area?
A. Marten River offers Trapper Trading Post with groceries, LCBO outlet, gas, propane exchange, gift shops and post office. For a major grocery store, we would recommend a 40 minute trip to North Bay or a 20 minute trip to Temagami.
Q. Where can I eat in the area?
A. Rock Pine Restaurant is close by. As well as Trapper's Snack Shack which offers chips, burgers, chicken, wraps and more.
Q. How far is the hospital from Horizons North?
A. The North Bay General Hospital is approximately 45 minutes. Ambulance is available through our 9-1-1 area service. Walk-in clinics in are also available in North Bay for non-emergency services.
Q. What is there to do in the area?
A. Visit the Logging Museum in the Marten River Provincial Park and step back in time. The Temagami Fire Tower offers a bird's eye view from atop a fire ranger's tower. Also visit the North Bay and Sturgeon Falls Museums; Dionne Quints Museum; cruise Lake Nipissing on the Chief Commanda (also offers dinner cruises with entertainment); live theatre is available at the Capitol Centre and Nipissing Stage Company summer theatre; excellent Golf Courses; Lake Nipissing Waterfront with Heritage Carousel and Mini-Train; the popular World's Largest Book Store in Cobalt, and much more.
Q. How do I reserve a cottage?
A. Reservations can be made by calling us on 1-705 482 0007 with your credit card number. You may pay your deposit of approximately 30% immediately, or leave your credit card number, then send a cheque or money order in the mail within 7 business days. Reservations can only be made accompanied by a deposit. Cheques are accepted as payment ONLY for deposits. Final payment is done by Mastercard, VISA, Interac or cash.
Q. How can I pay for my vacation?
A. We accept MasterCard, VISA, Interac and cash. Sorry, NO cheques accepted for final payment. Payment with US currency is given a fair exchange rate. We recommend that you exchange US currency at a border crossing or at a bank for the best rate. Payment for accommodations ON ARRIVAL.
Q. What if I must cancel my vacation?
A. Cancellation Policy: non-refundable deposit may be applied to alternative date during the same year (one time only)
Q. What documents do our American guests require to return to the USA?
A. Link to this information at http://noto.ca/bordercrossing Passport, NEXUS card or enhanced drivers license.
Q. How do I rent a boat if I don't have my Pleasure Operator's Card?
A. You can still rent our boats with your completed Boat rental agreement, approved by NOTO and accepted by Federal regulators. USA boat operators cards also accepted.
Q. Can I do laundry at the camp?
A. No, the nearest laundry is in Temagami, 30 minutes north.
Q. Should I bring my own lawn chairs?
A. We supply chairs at the beach and some throughout the grounds. You may want to consider bringing your own though.
